Blessing Quote

"Find what is in your heart.
Develop the skills needed.
Offer it to others as your blessing to this world."

Freedom Friday - GO FOR IT

I love coming back to the blog after a hiatus -- I usually (and still do) feel guilty that I don't have a consistent schedule of posts, but you know what? I need to work on my routine.. As a VATA-dominant person (read up on Ayurveda) I do enjoy being creative and engaged with people, but having a routine really keeps me grounded and on even keel.  These last few weeks have really been transformative. I went to a raw foods retreat for 4 days, and have also been visiting other blogs and forums-- reading, subscribing, commenting, and just meditating on some new things, some ventures I have had on hold for a while, and thinking forward for my family.  Recently I visited a blog I used to read regularly and she had so many great posts that I had missed. But it was KISMET that I was able to read them today, now that the hustle and bustle of school has died down a bit.  Here is an excerpt from my girl Jayna's blog, regarding healthy eating and fitness : "In my honest opinion it doesn't matter what you eat. The question is truly "How do you feel?" If you are running around with abundant energy, balanced emotions, great bowel movements...then who the hell am I to rain on your parade? Even if your diet consist of a plethora of trans fats, and process laden donut ho-hos! However, if you are like the majority of people, your diet is killing you slowly...making you fat, aging your face, and giving you a host of bowel issues. Don't you want better? Everyone wants to sell you some "plan"...some "genius, one-pill-a-day" plan that will put your eating and diet back on track. NO NO NO NO NO! Not gonna happen. Truth is...most of us know what to eat. We know what to do. We need someone to be accountable to and someone to help guide us along the way".

I really enjoyed reading this post because it reminded me of why I went to graduate school in the first place, along with many other choices I have made in the last 7 years. I feel like that has gotten lost as I have picked up other worthwhile and notable skills and talents (for all my fotki and etsy followers don't panic -- i'm not changing anything, just yet).. I will be spending the rest of the year re-evaluating my priorities and making additional changes to my blog, fotki, etsy, and upcoming website. Since my trip, I feel like the missing pieces are finally coming together and I am ready to start formulating it into a sensible ministry/business venture.  The rest of 2010 -- 2 weeks to be exact, is about GOING FOR IT! Don't wait for 2011 to slap you upside the head! You can resolve the problems and start adopting new habits and actions right now!

I'm planning to be more consistent at least with my Yoga, because that was really helping me out mentally and physically:) Along with more green smoothies, my food intake has been low, but much more nutritious. I need to plan the time I use for prepping food so that I can streamline my downtime better. The last few months I have been feeling very scatter-brained, and this is not good, particularly if you have a toddler, lol!

New things are in store for the blog. It will still have the inspirational tab, but there will be other postings as well for health, food, and fitness. That is really my JOY. Another post later on the meaning behind my blog name... But know that you need to

FEED YOUR JOY - Do what is best for yourself, your dreams, and those you love.

GO FOR IT - Move towards your dreams and goals today, and away from people, situations, and things that zap the energy and passion you need step forward.
With a hug and a smile,
Lina
