Freedom Friday - Personal Revolution

Hi  everyone -- yes, yes, I know - Its been WAAAY TOO LONG!  I have been getting into the school schedule/ daycare schedule/ meal prep routine and it really is a never-ending circle of things to do! Not to mention that I have to try and squeeze in some studying and reading at night after everyone goes to bed - its the only way I will have peace and sweet sleep myself, otherwise I end up dreaming about a bad meeting I had with a professor...

A close family member has confided in me about a serious financial woe, and now I am trying to mobilize the family to help. Its really hard on me because as the oldest girl, the responsibility is always forked over to me -- and I also tend to do well in crisis situations - which I don't want to have anymore!

In response to the stress of school, daycare, and worrying I started taking Bikram Yoga -- also called "Hot Yoga". Its in a very hot room - 95-100 degrees and I have been really enjoying it - so much so that I just signed up for a 3 month package, as well as the "Personal Revolution".

The personal revolution is a seasonal challenge that is offered to all yoga-goers at this studio and it is a commitment of 52 classes over a 90 day period.  Its posted on a giant bulletin board, with stickers and markers for each person to sign their name and post a smiley as each class is attended. I thought at first that it was a bit corny, but as more smileys were posted, I got a little competitive and decided to join. It is the first time in a long season that I have:

consciously decided to commit to something health-related
allowed myself some joy and self-care without feeling guilty about being home with hubby and baby

I still have some toning up to do, and I think this revolution will get me there -- I am also very excited, though about how my commitment to this challenge will begin to splash over into other areas - its been over a year since I had a real routine and schedule that I had to stick to, and so I feel very wishy-washy about almost everything I am dealing with right now (unless its urgent! then I am super organized!)

Today's encouragement is to find your personal revolution for the next 90 days - whether it is health, spirit, or wealth,  be committed, don't bite off too much, fit it in and make it a priority.

I tend to overstretch myself and then I am let down in a big way. This time I choose to abandon a few things that I can pick up later, in order to regain a sense of balance and calm. This yoga challenge helps with that and I think I will do an organizational personal challenge as well, but after the yoga revolution is well underway...

What do you think would be a good place for you to start? Please share in the comments section and I will cheer you on!

Blessings,
Lina
